If you have ever been to the Rocky Mountain National Park, you know that the mountains are the highlight. It is phenomenal, and now that I live in Memphis Tennessee, it is clear just how much the mountains add to life.

I am sure that there are ocean people also. A feeling looking at the size and grandeur of the Pacific that helps to make you feel grounded and essential in the scope of everything. I know that I get that feeling from the mountains, but I fondly remember countless hours staring out at the ocean at the end of my first transcontinental bike ride.

I miss the mountains. I get a little of that feeling here in Memphis, watching the Mississippi river or the heavy rain. My favorite activity is watching the sun set.

The photo was just one taken on a hike in RMNP. I am sure that there a much better views, but this photo is of one day in the mountains that helps me remember just how much I love that feeling of majesty.

This was made with my SONY R1.
