I take a lot of photos of people. Mostly candid.

The thing I like most about this photo is that other people like it. Don't get me wrong, I really like it but it won a Certificate of Excellence, Second Place Digital People 2019 from the Memphis Camera Club.

It is not the greatest accolade, but it would have hung in the Memphis Trustee's office if the pandemic had not shut the office down.

The print is, I believe, much more stunning than the digital photo. The difference is the heavy polyurethane coat that I put on it, it makes the photo seem more wet than the drops of water on the kid's face.

I took the photo on October 26, 2019 at the Komen Race for the Cure. I was in the stadium and used my flip-back LCD screen turned up, so I am looking down like you would with a Rolleiflex or Hasselblad camera.
