This photo removes the subject, adds radial blur to the background and replaces the woman playing rugby. I was really looking for a way to highlight the rugby player because she is in shadow while the entire background is in bright sunlight. It worked some, I like the photo, so I put it here to show-off some of my sports shots.

Another problem with rugby photos is that you often have everyone butt in the air and few faces.

Until this pandemic year there were a lot of sports events around Memphis. I have a baseball field, soccer pitch, rugby field, skatepark and the Liberty Bowl in walking distance from my home. I have not yet figured out when Christian Brothers University plays baseball, but that diamond is in easy walking distance also.

The old Memphis Fairgrounds are in planning to become a youth sports destination. I think the name will be “Liberty Park'' but I am not sure of that name yet. I do not have much faith that the City of Memphis will be able to create a working sports destination. Memphis has a long history of failure to build on in the sports area.

I enjoy visiting amature sports and shooting photos. I am going to try to compare my work with ADAPT to a pick-up game. My comparison is that social justice events are similar to a weekend game in that the photos also show that something happened that the participants are much more passionate about than anyone else.
